I just recently started playing FFXIV at the end of January 2024, and so far I have been really enjoying it. I've never really played an MMO (unless club penguin and neopets counts lol), and I struggle a lot with social anxiety, so I was kind of skeptical of whether I would enjoy a game that is exclusively multiplayer. However, there are many things to do in the game that I can do when I am feeling less social, and most of the people that I have played with are really nice.

I've already put in 4 days of playtime in the game (in the span of like a week and a half) and that is why the game is in my shrine. Like, to physically write this is taking my precious time away from the game. I think the story at first was a little clunky but that's because theres so much to do in the game that they have to explain to you. But maybe like half way through ARR is when it began to become interesting to me. I do kind of wish that they would kill off main cast members in order to give more stakes to the stories, but I think that the way the quests are structured continue to keep the ball rolling the entire time.

The stories are also kind of funny. I was expecting most of the quest to be serious because of the tone of the overarching story, but there are some goofy ass quests in the game. I feel like these really do help to lighten the mood after some of the more serious parts of the main quests.
